We are excited to share with you the miraculous ways God is working in our church. Please take a moment to contact us so that we can get to know you better and minister to you more effectively.

Thank you for taking the time to visit SteelCityMennoniteChurch.org today. May God richly bless you! We invite you to be a part of what God is doing through the life of this congregation. Email addresses, phone numbers and directions to our facilities are located throughout the website.

Prayer Meeting
The Weekly Prayer Meeting meets on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
Tonight
Tonight at 7:30 p.m., CCN will present “Good Connections: Tear Down the Walls.” To protect ourselves from hurt, we build walls – we want to guard our heart and keep others from getting too close. Even though we need closeness, we avoid it in our attempt to stay safe. Find out how trust plays a vital part in tearing down walls and bringing you closer to getting the love you really need.
Special Service
In order to plan the “Invite a Friend” Sunday on June 1 to the best of our ability, we are asking you to indicate on the sign-up sheet provided in the Church foyer, the number of people you have invited whom you believe will attend. Don’t forget to pick up your official invitations from the table in the foyer. We are excited about this outreach Sunday!
Next Wednesday Evening
Next Wednesday Evening, at 7:30 p.m., CCN will present “Good Connections: Through the Eyes of Your Heart.” Good connection is so much more than just listening and acknowledging what someone says. It is the ability to understand another person’s experience at a very deep level: to hear with your heart. Learn how empathy is critically important to building a strong relational connection.
Junior Youth Group Retreat
All youth 6th -8th grades are invited to join the SCMC Junior Youth Group for the annual Junior Youth Sugar Hollow Retreat in the “Endless Mountains” of Tunkhannock PA. Mark your calendar for the weekend of June 20 – 22, and join us for a fun time of swimming, hiking, games, and worship time. If you have any questions, you can call Becky Bergey at 215-723-4916 or Tara Willard at 610-866-3078. More information and a sign-up sheet will be on table in the church foyer.
Blood Drive
We have a Miller-Keystone Blood Drive scheduled for Saturday, May 31, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please sign up on the sheet provided in the Church foyer. We have several faithful donors who have been out of the country recently and are now ineligible to give blood until next April, so we really need you to make this a priority. We currently are in need of 10 more donors. Thank you!
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School will be the week of June 23-27. Remember to sign up on the volunteer sheet posted in the Chapel to help out with this exciting program we present each summer to the community of Steel City and to our children in the congregation.
Ladies Night Out
Ladies Night Out is this Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. The ladies will meet at Pastor David and Bev’s home for some comedy—Anita Renfroe in “...It’s Probably Just My Thyroid.” Thyroid a bit off kilter? Feeling a little sluggish? Here's a "remedy" even your endocrinologist would approve---a healthy dose of estrogen-laced humor a la Anita Renfroe! Chock-full of laughs, off-the-wall insights, and music, this is one video that's good for whatever ails you! Carrie Underwood fans will especially love the parody entitled "Before I Eat." If you haven’t signed up and would like to attend, let Bev know via phone or email.
Church League Softball Game
There is a Church League Softball Game tonight (Wednesday) at Promised Land at 6:30 p.m. Come out and support the team!
LVCHS Choir Concert
We will be hosting the Lehigh Valley Christian High School Choir tomorrow (Thursday) evening at 7:00 p.m. as they present their Spring Concert. Come out and be a blessing to these young people as they in turn bless you with their musical gifts.
Lose It For Life

Go to www.scmcloseitforlife.blogspot.com for daily encouragement and the opportunity for you to share helpful hints or struggles with others. We are still in the refining (and learning) stage, so keep that in mind and let us know what you think.

Welcome to SCMC
At Steel City, you will find friendly people -- singles, young married, families and parents without partners. Come experience inspirational teaching from God's Word, the Bible. Our worship music includes a variety of traditional and contemporary music. And there are plenty of opportunities for learning to know each other better.

We have a staffed nursery during Worship Services and place a great emphasis on our children's involvement and activities. We also have an active Junior and Senior High Youth Group.

Our facilities are handicap accessible and air conditioned.

Come join us, we'd love to worship with you!
