Tonight
Tonight (Wednesday), at 7:30 p.m., CCN presents “Words of Wisdom: Twinge of Envy!” Who doesn't feel a twinge of envy from time to time? The desire for more is natural and harmless, right? Maybe, but desire turned to envy produces devastating effects. Learn how to think twice when desire starts taking hold — and find out why Proverbs says that envy "rots the bones!"
Next Wednesday Evening
Next Wednesday Evening at 7:30 p.m., CCN presents “Words of Wisdom: Pride Comes Before a Fall!” It's healthy to feel pleased with your accomplishments, but left unchecked, pride leads to arrogance and conceit. Overconfidence creates distance in relationships and makes others reluctant to share their wisdom and advice. Start cultivating the kind of humility that values feedback — and avoids the inevitable fall!
Lehigh Valley Christian High School
Great news from Lehigh Valley Christian High School! Barring any unforeseen obstacles, LVCHS is relocating to the former Lincoln Middle School in Catasauqua for the upcoming school year. This move provides a PIAA regulation gym, cafeteria, larger classrooms and much room to grow. If you are still trying to decide what high school your child will attend this September, we encourage you to visit Lehigh Valley Christian High School. LVCHS is accepting applications for the 2009/10 school year. Over 95% of our students go on to college and with smaller classes, students feel more connected to each other and their teachers. Your child will learn biblical principles while receiving an outstanding academic education. LVCHS offers a competitive PIAA sports program, Concert Choir, Activity Periods and much more! Visit www.lvchs.org or call 610-821-9443 to arrange a tour. In today’s culture, LVCHS is making a difference in the heart and the mind. If you have any questions regarding the high school, please speak to Pastor David, who is currently serving as Chairman of the LVCHS board, or Kevin Olsen, Treasurer.
Women's Retreat
The Women’s Retreat at Spruce Lake Retreat Center is September 18-20, 2009. The speaker is Bonnie Keen. Bonnie says she has “chosen to drop the veil on her personal life to share hope with others.” She has a unique gift for leaping the boundaries that can exist between the “hurting and the Healer.” Bonnie’s focus is to encourage women to live life to the full! The cost of the event is $179. If you have your deposit of $45 to Bev by Wednesday, July 22, you will receive a 10% discount. If you would like to attend, please sign up on the sheet provided in the foyer, make a check payable to Spruce Lake Retreat and give the check to Bev. Please do not register with Spruce Lake individually, unless you prefer not to be included with our church group.
Junior Youth Retreat
The Junior Youth Retreat at Sugar Hollow is coming up on July 10-12. It will be an awesome weekend of swimming, hiking, campfires, group games, worship time and more!! The cost is $25 per youth. If you would like to attend, please sign up on the sheet provided in the foyer. If you have any questions, please speak to Becky Bergey or Tara Willard.

Welcome to SCMC
At Steel City, you will find friendly people -- singles, young married, families and parents without partners. Come experience inspirational teaching from God's Word, the Bible. Our worship music includes a variety of traditional and contemporary music. And there are plenty of opportunities for learning to know each other better.

We have a staffed nursery during Worship Services and place a great emphasis on our children's involvement and activities. We also have an active Junior and Senior High Youth Group.

Our facilities are handicap accessible and air conditioned.

Come join us, we'd love to worship with you!
